My name is Carmel and I love to create!
Creativity has always been a big part of my life. From colouring and drawing as a child to experimenting with acrylics, watercolours, sewing, origami, and resin, I’ve always loved exploring different ways to make art.
While studying multimedia art at Liverpool John Moores University, I dabbled in web design, animation, and film—but I kept coming back to the joy of drawing. That passion grew when I discovered Procreate on the iPad, and digital illustration quickly became my favourite medium.
Today, I focus on surface design and illustration, creating playful patterns and unique designs. At the heart of my work is a simple goal: to bring ideas to life and share a little beauty with the world. I hope my art sparks joy and inspires creativity in others.

"Self Portrait V3"
This was my third attempt at a self portrait after a long break.
-
"Hiddleston"
I love Tome Hiddleston (Especially as Thor!) This took over 10 hours to complete and my favourite piece to date.
-
"They/Them"
I hadn't attempted a lot of male models, so this was a personal challenge. But I'm really pleased with the outcome.
-
"Wanderlust"
Another of my favourite pieces. I love the dewy look and how soft the entire painting looks.
-
"Green Eyes"
I feel this piece demonstrates the improvement in my work. Putting new techniques into practice.
-
"Cara"
Whilst this isn't as detailed as my other pieces I do like the overall style of it.

"Jacob"
A commission for a friends birthday. Not my favourite, but recipient was happy and its a very good likeness!
-
"Self Portrait V2"
My favourite of the self portraits I have produced so far.
-
"Untitled"
I remember being so pleased with the hair texture of this piece.

"OWP Challenge" Apr 2022
This was a turning point for my art style. I took part in the paintable one week portrait challenge. This gave me lots of useful hints and tips to improve my work.
-
"Self Portrait V.1"
My first ever self portrait. I was really happy with the detailing of the necklace. It inspired me to put a little more time into the small details.
-
"Sam"
This was one of my first attempted at digital portraits. Quite basic but a good example of how my style and technique has changed over the years.

Daffodils
This pattern pays homage to my home country Wales with the national flower, the Daffodil.

Tea and Biscuits
Focusing on those British essentials! Tea and Biscuits. Design includes iconic biscuit designs such as Custard Creams and Party Rings.

Who doesn't love coffee? This design was inspired by my addiction to caffeine and lets me honest, a cake pairs well with coffee!
-
Croissant
I'm not sure why i created this, other than i love croissants! These was a experiment in different techniques.

Strawberries
It was the beginning of summer when i created this pattern. Strawberries are my favourite fruit and i wanted to create something cute!

Anybody close to me know i love rainbows. I incorporate rainbows in my everyday life, usually in the form of funky cardigans!
-
Ribbons and Bows
This was a idea suggested to me. I really enjoyed playing with the different textures and colour ways of this pattern.
-
Celestial
This pattern was a homage to my youth. A proper retro flashback to the 90's.
