My name is Carmel and I love to create!

Creativity has always been a big part of my life. From colouring and drawing as a child to experimenting with acrylics, watercolours, sewing, origami, and resin, I’ve always loved exploring different ways to make art.

While studying multimedia art at Liverpool John Moores University, I dabbled in web design, animation, and film—but I kept coming back to the joy of drawing. That passion grew when I discovered Procreate on the iPad, and digital illustration quickly became my favourite medium.

Today, I focus on surface design and illustration, creating playful patterns and unique designs. At the heart of my work is a simple goal: to bring ideas to life and share a little beauty with the world. I hope my art sparks joy and inspires creativity in others.

  • Illustration of a person with glasses and dark hair against a gray background

    "Self Portrait V3"

This was my third attempt at a self portrait after a long break.

  • A digital portrait of a Man (Tome Hiddleston) with a neutral expression on a plain background

    "Hiddleston"

I love Tome Hiddleston (Especially as Thor!) This took over 10 hours to complete and my favourite piece to date.

  • Digital art of a person wearing a hooded garment with a neutral background

    "They/Them"

I hadn't attempted a lot of male models, so this was a personal challenge. But I'm really pleased with the outcome.

  • Digital art of a woman with styled hair and earrings on a light gray background

    "Wanderlust"

Another of my favourite pieces. I love the dewy look and how soft the entire painting looks.

  • Digital illustration of a woman with long brown hair and green eyes against a light blue background

    "Green Eyes"

I feel this piece demonstrates the improvement in my work. Putting new techniques into practice.

  • Digital illustration of a person with a neutral expression on a dark background

    "Cara"

Whilst this isn't as detailed as my other pieces I do like the overall style of it.

  • Digital art of a person wearing glasses and a sparkly top with a blurred background

    "Jacob"

A commission for a friends birthday. Not my favourite, but recipient was happy and its a very good likeness!

  • digital portrait of Carmel Rimmer. Dark brown hair and eyes on a neutral grey background.

    "Self Portrait V2"

My favourite of the self portraits I have produced so far.

  • Digital artwork of a woman with blue eyes and brown hair on a dark background.

    "Untitled"

I remember being so pleased with the hair texture of this piece.

  • Illustration of a person with a bob haircut on a pink background.

    "OWP Challenge" Apr 2022

This was a turning point for my art style. I took part in the paintable one week portrait challenge. This gave me lots of useful hints and tips to improve my work.

  • Digital portrait of a person with long brown hair and a necklace.

    "Self Portrait V.1"

My first ever self portrait. I was really happy with the detailing of the necklace. It inspired me to put a little more time into the small details.

  • Illustration of a child with blonde hair and red lips on a gradient teal background.

    "Sam"

This was one of my first attempted at digital portraits. Quite basic but a good example of how my style and technique has changed over the years.
