This is a story about a creative soul. Who feeds off arts, crafts & coffee.
Once there was a girl called Carmel. A girl who loved arts & crafts. She graduated from university with a degree in Multimedia Arts, full of big dreams and ambitions.
But alas the post-grad world was not so bright and sparkly and the world of the dead end job loomed.
Many years past. Working hard & earning the pennies. She met her husband and son number 1 was born. Carmel grew tired of the fast food life. Making fries, cleaning tables. Unsociable hours & minimum wage. The heartbreaking nursery drop off and the ever present guilt of the working mum. The creative bug inside was sad and neglected.
So she quit the day job and focused her energy on being a stay at home mummy.
In 2013 Carmel Chameleon was "accidentally" born.
It started with a handmade bouquet of origami flowers for Mothers Day. Photos where uploaded, lovely comments and likes recieved. The dormant creative bug within awoke. Bouncy and full of ideas! A Facebook page set up and an old Etsy store revived. By late 2013 she took the plunge and became self employed.
New flowers where learnt and made. Flowers made for birthdays, origami bouquets gracing the hands of beautiful Brides and Bridesmaids. Christmas decorations and hundreds of origami lucky stars folded. Unfortunately in 2020 the pandemic began, and Carmel took the difficult decision to wrap up the business.
But in 2022 Carmel delved into the world of digital art and surface design. An unexpected return to her creative roots and a ode to her multimedia degree.
Carmel now lives in a lovely seaside town with her husband Jay and her two boys Jack and Sam and a cat called Slinky.
And the creative bug is fed and happy ♥
